Lewandowski considering EPL move

Robert Lewandowski is considering a move to the Premier League after growing increasingly unsettled at Bayern Munich according to The Daily Mail

The Polish striker has resisted interest in the past from clubs such as Manchester United, preferring to make his name in Germany at Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

He is currently discussing an extension with his contract at Bayern but is understood to have told friends he is willing to entertain alternatives as his talks continue.

The 27-year-old may yet sign a new deal if other offers don’t eventuate, but it is understood he feels in need of a new challenge.

Ranieri may leave Leceister city

Daily Star reported that Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri will sign a new big-money deal after Euro 2016 to tie him to the Premier League champions until 2018.

Leicester are finding it hard to stick with their top stars and this is increasing the frustration of their manager.

Leicester are moving fast to tie him down to a new deal as his current contract ends this season.

The Italian’s next signing could be in the form of Norwich winger Robbie Brady according to The Times.

Hazard may miss EURO 2016

An injury suffered by Eden Hazard during training on Friday is not serious and will not cause the Chelsea star to miss Belgium’s opening European Championship fixture against Italy on Monday.

Hazard, 25, left the pitch after 50 minutes after having his foot stood on during a practice match between the expected starting XI and the reserves, but Belgium coach Marc Wilmots played down the severity of the situation.

“I don’t think it is serious, just a knock.” Wilmots told reporters, and also confirmed he had a fully-fit squad to work with, including Thomas Vermaelen who was considered a doubt earlier in the week.”

“Thomas has done well in training over the last days and is completely ready for the battle,” Wilmots added. “He has no more problems.”

Nigeria football federation may retire No. 4 shirt following Stephen Keshi's death

Nigeria are considering retiring the No. 4 shirt in honour of their former player and coach Stephen Keshi, who died this week at the age of 54.

Amaju Pinnick, president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), told SuperSport magazine show "Soccer Africa" it is one of many proposals being considered to immortalise Keshi.

Speaking to ESPN FC on Thursday, Pinnick repeated that there are several plans under consideration.

Pinnick said: "A stadium in his home state of Delta State was already going to be named after him even before he died. He visited the stadium with me and was happy about the plans.

"We will also consider retiring the No. 4 jersey that Keshi used during his time as an international player, but that will have to go through the technical committee and, of course, other relevant international bodies like FIFA and CAF would also have to give permission."

Nigeria's Sports Minister Solomon Dalung also said the federal government had plans to honour him.

"He was one of Nigeria's heroes whose contributions to the development of football and Nigeria's sports in general cannot be quantified, and I want to assure Nigerians that government will seek ways to immortalise him," Dalung said in a media statement.

Jamie Vardy turns down Arsenal move?

Jamie Vardy may have opted against a move to the Emirates, former Arsenal midfield Ray Parlour claims.

The Gunners were said to be close to signing the England international last week after they activated the £20m release clause in his Leicester City contract and offered a three-year deal on wages worth £120,000-a-week. However, the player seems to have taken a huge U-turn since then, and he is now considering extending his stay at the King Power Stadium on an improved salary package. "It looks like it isn't happening now. I was at the Arsenal the other day and there were big reports flying around, and the club's cameramen and digital staff had to get down to the training ground," Parlour told talkSPORT. "So it looked like it was going to happen - there was a medical being done. But it seems Vardy thought about it while on England duty, and suddenly there was a U-turn." Vardy could feature for the Three Lions in their Euro 2016 opener against Russia on Saturday.
